The hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis (HPA) mediates responses to stressors in many higher organisms. A well-regulated response to stress is critical for adaptation and survival, as disproportionate responses can significantly reduce an organism’s fitness. Accurate measurement of stress response is a fundamental requirement for studying both behavioral reactions to stress, and molecular mechanisms of stress response.

Arbor Assays provides tools to measure the primary stress-associated molecules that mediate activity of the HPA axis. For example, our glucocorticoid assay kits help researchers monitor stress and stress response mechanisms more efficiently in as little as 1 µL of plasma without extraction.
